Gudri Bedsheet

Gudri Bedsheet, also known as Gudri Quilt or Gudri Razai, is a traditional Indian bedspread made by hand-stitching multiple layers of fabric together. It is a type of patchwork quilt that originated in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat in India. The word "Gudri" comes from the Hindi word "gudri" which means a padded bed cover. These bedsheets are also known as Kantha, meaning "rags" in Sanskrit, as they are made from recycled old clothes and fabrics. The art of making Gudri bedsheets has been passed down from generation to generation and is still practiced by women in rural areas of India. Gudri bedsheets are made by stitching together layers of old sarees, dupattas, dhotis, and other fabric scraps. The layers are held together by running stitches, giving the quilt a distinctive texture.
