Garad Silk sarees are weaved in the Murshidabad in West Bengal. Garad means white and refers to silk that has never been dyed and hence this saree generally has white or white off. Garad silk sarees are distinguished by a red border and small motifs. With the passage of the time different colored borders are available. Garad Silk is the symbol of royalty due to its qualities like soft feel, elegant and classic appearance, high cost of production. Silk is also a very popular textile in high end and haute couture designs. The only thing you need to know while purchasing this beauty is never hand-wash or machine-wash. It is advised to only dry clean silk to keep the last long shine. Avoid direct sundry it may cause the color to fade and keep them in dark while wrapping it on a soft cloth. Care Instructions: For the first time dry clean recommended after which you can hand wash Garad Silk saree with cold water and mild detergent. Avoid using bleach and direct dry in sunlight as this both fade the beautiful color of the saree.
